merci pour les conseils chez CHINOOK et HOTMER ;

Très bonne planche pour mon gabarit 90 kg très agréable en ballade comme en surf et surtout très maniable en vague malgré son volume. J'ai le modèle carbon qui est très réactif et super light.

Wide surf shapes from Starboard compared: Whopper, Wide Point and Hyper Nut

Whether you're getting into surfing for the first time or are an improving surfer, the Starboard range of boards has got you covered, from the widest of boards such as the 34' Whopper, to the short but still stable Hyper Nut range. We took a closer look at and compared 3 boards from Starboard, the 10' Whopper, 9'5' Wide Point and the new shape 8'4' Hyper Nut. 3 boards that will suit different abilities and riding styles.

The Whopper 10'0 and Whopper 9'5

The legendary Whoppers dimensions of 10'0 x 34 inches wide, set the industry standard for instant access to stand up fun. Anyone could jump on a 34'' wide board. But what set the whopper apart from it's imitators, was that it was incredibly stable for a rider up to110kg, the kid or a dog on board, but actually surfed well too. It was then enhanced to surf even better. A single concave for lift and good nose riding capabilities, feeds into a forward V in the stance area, promoting rail to rail trim and reactivity. This then feeds into a tail concave, providing flat tail rocker which maintains rail curve for faster tighter turning. And now the whopper has a smaller sibling for people that find the original a a little big to handle. The whopper 9'5 x33, being slightly smaller, is easier to handle on land and in the water, just to make everything a bit more manageable. Whopper. Ultimate all round family fun for flat water and in the waves.

Starboard 10'0x34 Whopper

This video features the Starboard 10'0x34 Whopper. The famous board that makes everything easy. Simply fun for the whole family. The legendary Whopper set the benchmark by being the first board to go wide at 34'', at the time it was shocking, but now it's considered the norm. The Whopper leads the way in easy, fun, performance. A board that's incredibly stable yet defies its dimensions with effortless trim and dynamic turning abilities. Using a forward V in the stance area, promoting rail-to-rail reactivity, running to a single concave that accelerates the water through the back of the board, to a V off the tail. Generous nose kick makes pearling close to impossible. The ultimate family all rounder.

Plus d'info sur le starboard whopper 10'0

"This legendary board that opened people's eyes to wide boards and set the benchmark for easy, fun performance, for all, has taken another step ahead of the competition. The dimensions and rails remain the same, but the bottom shape has evolved to produce a livelier, more responsive Whopper. This was achieved by using a forward V in the stance area, promoting rail-to-rail reactivity, running to a single concave that accelerates the water through the back of the board to a V off the tail. We also added half an inch of nose kick to make pearling close to impossible."
